Jody Sherman, 64, of Montpelier passed away very peacefully at the Menig Home, Randolph, Vermont, during the early morning hours of May 11, 2015, surrounded by her family.
Jody was born in Chicago, Illinois, before moving with her family to the Mad River Valley in the early 1960s where she resided for many years before moving to Randolph to attend Vermont Law School where she also befriended Professor MaryAnn Zavez who would become her BFF and mentor for many of the good deeds she would perform in the years ahead.
Jody spent countless time and efforts advocating through the law school for those in need both financially and otherwise who were less fortunate. She was most proud of her organizational skills and thrilled when she could have the opportunity to help others successfully.
Jody developed MS many years ago and was very proud of the time she was able to raise funds for the MS Society mainly through their annual bicycling events.
Most who knew her also knew that there was no bigger Beatles fan in the state of Vermont than Jody Sherman, Paul being her favorite. It was with some disappointment that she finally gave up her Beatles vanity plate as it was stolen too many times!
Jody loved all things Vermont including but certainly not limited to patronizing the Wayside Diner and most importantly the Morse Farm with her brother Harry in the spring for her very favorite dessert, the maple creemee.
She is survived by her mother, Jean Sherman of Waitsfield; sisters, Christie Sherman of New York City and Jamie Sherman of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida; brothers, Harry W. Sherman of Newport, Rhode Island, and John D. Sherman of Waterbury; and her nephew, Alastair Baxter Sherman.
For those inclined to make a donation in her name, the MS Society of America would please her greatly.
