obit LouiseMoulton   Louise R. Moulton, 87, passed away in the comfort of her home and family on Saturday, May 2, 2015. Born in East Warren on June 5, 1927, she was the daughter of the late David and Rosemary (Smith) McNeil. On September 8, 1945, she married Eugene C. Moulton in Warren. Eugene predeceased Louise on October 8, 1977.

Louise was a 1944 graduate of Waitsfield High School and continued her education at the former Burlington Business College (now Champlain College). Following her marriage she worked several years for the Waitsfield Telephone Company, but with her growing family, she desired to be a full-time mom. Re-entering the workforce later, Louise worked in the cafeteria, first at Waitsfield Elementary School and later at Harwood Union High School in Duxbury. When an opportunity to work for the state of Vermont opened, she took training courses through Community College of Vermont and worked full time for the Department of Social and Rehabilitative Services in Waterbury, retiring following 17 years of service to the state.

An active and faithful member of Waitsfield United Church of Christ, Louise volunteered for many church activities and was the reception coordinator for countless church funerals. In addition, Louise was a longtime member of the Rebekahs, first with the former Maple Rebekah Lodge 56 of Waitsfield and later with Emerald Rebekah Lodge 33 of Waterbury; she was a member of the Harry N. Cutting American Legion Auxiliary Unit 59 and in earlier years had been active as a Cub Scout den leader.

She is lovingly remembered by her family for her creative talents in quilting, crocheting and sewing; her interests in genealogy, playing the piano and flower gardening; the joy she felt dancing the night away with Eugene, especially square dancing and the polka; and her affection for and from her large and loving family.

Louise is survived by three daughters, Catherine Flanagan of Friendsville, Maryland, Regina Miller and her husband Lester Jr. of Waitsfield, Rosemary Aronson and her husband James of Waitsfield; four sons, Brian Moulton and his wife Corinne of Warren, Keith Moulton and his wife Beth of Peyton, Colorado, Gordon Moulton and his wife Julie of Eden Mills and James Moulton of Waitsfield; 20 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; as well as extended family. Louise was predeceased by a brother, William McNeil; a granddaughter, Diane Barton; two great-grandsons, Damien and Jordan Miller; and a daughter-in-law, Wendy Wesson-Moulton.

Funeral services will be held from Waitsfield United Church of Christ on Thursday, May 7, 2015, at 11 a.m. with a reception to follow in the church dining room. Interment will take place in Warren Village Cemetery. Friends and family are invited to calling hours at Perkins-Parker Funeral Home in Waterbury on Wednesday evening from 6 to 9 p.m. The family requests that in lieu of flowers memorial gifts be considered to the American Cancer Society (www.cancer.org) or to the American Heart Association (www.heart.org).
