Michael Scott Johnson, 37, of Bellows Falls and formerly of Wallingford, Connecticut, died suddenly and went to live with the Lord on Sunday, March 1, 2015.
Michael was born on April 21, 1977, the son of Linda Jehan Trumpold of Bellows Falls, Vermont (formerly of Connecticut), and the late John T. Johnson, formerly of West Haven, Connecticut.
He is survived by his mother, Linda Jehan Trumpold of Bellows Falls; and his siblings, Stacey Corey Theurer of Waitsfield, Bonney Gaulin of Lake Wales, Florida, Jennifer Allis Vazquez of Wallingford, Connecticut, Rebecca Olszower of Bellows Falls, Robert Johnson of West Haven, Connecticut, John Johnson Jr. of West Haven, Connecticut, Cynthia Johnson Defaranos of Northford, Connecticut, and Debra Johnson Perez of New Haven, Connecticut.
Michael was predeceased by his grandfather, Richard Jehan of West Haven, Connecticut. Mike is also survived by his grandmother, Barbara Wood Kaplan of North Haven, Connecticut; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews; as well as a large circle of friends.
In life, Michael enjoyed nature, dogs (especially Labrador retrievers), collecting rocks, minerals and coins and fishing. Michael enjoyed helping other people. He will be remembered for making people laugh and lifting people's spirits. He was very loved by his family and friends. Michael enjoyed volunteering at Our Place and SEVCA.
A memorial service celebrating Michael's life will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2015, at 2 p.m. at Fenton & Hennessey Funeral Home, Inc., 55 Westminster Street, Bellows Falls, Vermont. In lieu of flowers, donations in Michael's memory can be sent to Our Place Drop In Center, 6 Island Street, Bellows Falls, Vermont 05101.
