Bruce Reginald Mable of Essex Jct., VT (and formerly of N. Fayston), died at Fletcher Allen Heath Care on August 8, 2014, of cardiac arrest. Bruce was born in Colchester on November 2, 1942, to Wayne and Helen (Rowland) Mable. He worked in home construction, heating and ventilation and retired from Fluor Daniel Corporation at IBM in 2012.

Bruce was a gifted dowser, took pride in gardening and grilling and loved to boat and fish on Lakes Champlain and Ontario. He owned more than a few Harleys and could be found motorcycling throughout Vermont and New England. Through his life he and Carol owned many goldens, the last one, Shadow (named after the lake), survives him.

Bruce was predeceased by his wife of 33 years, Carol (Gonyeau) Mable, on October 25, 2005; his parents; and three brothers, Dick, Allen and Stanley Mable. He is survived by his daughter and grandchildren of Largo, FL, Cheri Tonova, her husband Rob and children Skylar and Anthony. Bruce is also survived by his sisters, Joyce Porter and husband Bob of Springfield, VT, and Jeannette Pecor and husband Norm of Essex Jct.; and by his brother, Duane Mable and wife Sheila of Penacook, NH. In addition, he is survived by nieces and nephews, Bob, Gary and Kim Porter; Kathy, Richard and Greg Mable; Steve Pecor; Angela and Marc Mable; Dawn, Shawn and Todd Mable; and by his dear friend and companion, Nancy Boutin of Essex Jct. and her family.

A memorial service celebrating Bruce's life will be held at a later date. The A. W. Rich Funeral Home in Essex Jct. will arrange the burial in Binghamville Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. Memorial gifts, in lieu of flowers, would be appreciated to the American Heart Association.
