To all our friends in The Valley:
As the anniversary of Tropical Storm Irene is upon us, it’s time to reflect and give thanks. Our building at 40 Bridge Street in Waitsfield was hit especially hard and suffered devastating damage. It would have been easy for us to give up and walk away, but the day after the storm hundreds of people showed up. We knew then how important it was for us to try and bring this building back to life.
People from communities near and far just dug in and started the massive cleanup. It was an amazing effort. People who didn’t even know each other came together as one and worked miracles. After the initial cleanup, the difficult task of restoring a 170-year-old building began and has continued for one solid year.
From the foundation up, we have restored The Blue Building at 40 Bridge Street and we couldn’t be more proud. There are many, many individuals we could name who played a major role in the restoration. We could never have completed the job without their hard work and dedication every day.
Words fail to describe our appreciation. It was a community effort that started the restoration the day after the storm and it has been a total community effort for the past year that has completed the project. Thanks to all for your support, encouragement and love. We could not have done it without you.
