I am also a resident of Warren, albeit not of Warren Village, and will
say in my 20 years of living here have only experienced one telephone
outage and in that instance Waitsfield Telecom was very quick to restore
our service. Additionally, my family and I rely upon Green Mountain
Access for our internet service and, in my humble opinion, have always
provided exceptional customer service, including follow-up to make sure
our problem was corrected to our satisfaction. Waitsfield Telecom/Green
Mountain Access exhibit a level of sincerity and customer service that
other companies can only try to epitomize.
Mr. Klofach mentioned his experience with Bell of Pennsylvania/Verizon
during his 25-plus-year residency in Philadelphia and their willingness
to compensate him for lost service. While I cannot believe the dollar
value of a reimbursement for the January 3 outage is monetarily
significant, in the big picture, Waitsfield Telecom reimburses us as a
community in far more significant ways than I am sure Bell of
Pennsylvania/Verizon did in Philadelphia.
For a small community such as ours, we are without a doubt extremely
fortunate to have the family-owned and -operated Waitsfield Telecom
within our little Valley. Not only do we have internet and telephone
capabilities other rural communities only dream of, our local
family-owned utility is always there when we need them.
Whenever a local charity or school is looking for financial assistance,
Waitsfield Telecom comes to their aid without any hesitation. Waitsfield
Telecom is one of the largest dues-paying members and supporters of the
local Chamber of Commerce. Additionally, Waitsfield Telecom sponsors
blood drives for the American Red Cross, provides scholarships for high
school students, and even sponsors events for our children as seen
through their annual Easter egg hunts and hosting visits from Santa.
Mr. Klofach, the outages you experienced I'm sure are very frustrating.
However, I hope you can step back a moment and consider the big picture.
Waitsfield Telecom reimburses you in so many other ways through their
continuing support of the community in which you have chosen to live. If
you cannot, then maybe you should consider moving back to Philadelphia
where you appear to be happier with the telecommunications service you
had.
