The Mad River Path Association will hold its annual celebration starting at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 28, at the West Hill House B&B in Warren.
The gathering is an opportunity to learn about the path association's achievements in 2014 and its goals for 2015, all while mingling with other path enthusiasts.
This year, the path association welcomes Kate Wanner, Warren resident and project manager with the Trust for Public Land (TPL), to speak about TPL's work to help conserve the former Mt. Ascutney Ski Area, the Dowsville Headwaters property in Duxbury and other TPL projects to conserve land for recreation purposes.
Founded in 1972, the Trust for Public Land is a nationwide nonprofit organization working to create parks and protect land for people, ensuring healthy, livable communities for generations to come. Since its founding, TPL has protected more than three million acres and completed more than 5,200 park and conservation projects across the country.
A reception will follow the meeting and will feature light refreshments and an opportunity to meet and ask questions of board members and the path association's executive director. The event is open to the public at no cost.
Parking for the event will be available in an on-site parking area at the West Hill House B&B. Parking is prohibited along West Hill Road. Accordingly, attendees are asked to carpool if possible.
