A break in a waterline serving a home in Waitsfield Village was repaired last Friday. The home, owned by Ray LaRochelle, is served by the town's municipal water system.

According to Waitsfield town administrator Valerie Capels, the break was not in the large water main but rather in the small connector pipe that connects the home to the system. Capels said that the break was apparently caused by two pieces of the pipe pulling apart.

Because LaRochelle signed onto the water system early and granted the town an easement from the main line to where the water enters his house, the repair was covered by the contractor who installed that line. The work to install the connections is warranteed for the first year by the contractor and after that by the town.
