On August 7, 2013, at 10:30 p.m., the Vermont State Police in Middlesex was notified of a report of a lost hiker in Warren, VT.  The hiker, Dawn Robertson, age 43 of Burlington, VT, had called 911 to advise she had left Sugarbush Resort in Warren approximately three hours earlier and had become lost.

Troopers from the Middlesex barracks responded with members of Warren Fire Department, Mad River Valley Ambulance Service and vice president of Mountain Operations of Sugarbush John Hammond.

Robertson was able to speak with a member of the Vermont State Police search and rescue team via cellphone and provide information that led searchers to her location.

Hammond provided an all-terrain vehicle, which he and a member of Mad River Valley Ambulance Service were able to successfully negotiate to Robertson's location.

Robertson was medically checked out at the scene and found to be shaken up but otherwise uninjured.
