Sugarbush purchased the former Warren House restaurant parcel on the Sugarbush Access Road last December 21 for $100,000.
Sugarbush purchased it from CJA Associates. The restaurant had sat empty for the last three years. The 3,400 square foot restaurant building sits on 2.5 acres. The restaurant was owned and operated by Chris Jones as the Warren House from the mid-1990s until it closed three years ago. Prior to that it was known as Sam Rupert's and was owned and operated by Chuck Nichols from the 1970s until it was sold to Jones.
The parcel adjoins another piece of Sugarbush-owned real estate to the south, a building that has in the past been used for employee housing.
Regarding Sugarbush's plans for the parcel, Sugarbush spokesperson Patrick Brown said, "Given that Sugarbush owns much of the land surrounding the property it is a strategic parcel for Sugarbush to own. At this point no specific plans have been made for the property and Sugarbush has not yet determined how to best use the land."
The parking lot of the parcel served as overflow parking on several busy ski weekends this year when all of Sugarbush's regular and overflow lots were full.
