Duxbury town clerk Ken Scott challenged, prevails
Candice Canton challenged longtime Duxbury town clerk Ken Scott for his job as Duxbury town clerk and treasurer at Town Meeting, losing to the incumbent.
There were 167 votes cast, with Scott receiving 99, Canton, 67, and there was one spoiled ballot. Duxbury elects its officials from the floor of Town Meeting.
Voters also elected incumbent select board members Maureen Harvey (three-year term), Don Poitras (one-year term) and Mo Lavanway (one-year term). Voters elected Marty Wells to a one- year term.
Duxbury voters approved a $743,223 town budget and joined with the other towns in the Washington West Supervisory Union in passing Harwood Union’s two-vote budget.
There are 1,040 registered voters in Duxbury.
