On Thursday, January 10, at 7 p.m. at the Big Picture Theater in Waitsfield, Ben Falk, M.A.L.D. (masters of arts in landscape design), drawing on strategies developed at the Whole Systems Research Farm in Moretown, will highlight systems employed at the farm that decrease vulnerability to climate change events, oil price spikes, grid failure and other systemic challenges.
Falk will overview strategies for developing biologically adaptive, intentional ecosystems and climate-buffering landscapes in which humans can build homes, produce food and live well in a future of greater adversity.
Falk developed Whole Systems Design, LLC and the Whole Systems Research Farm as a land-based response to biological and cultural extinction and the increasing separation between people and elemental things.
