Sugarbush Resort is matching funds raised by Ski Vermont’s Operation Mountains of Love up to $25,000 to benefit the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund.
Ski Vermont, the industry association of ski areas in Vermont, launched Operation Mountains of Love to aid in the recovery efforts of residents afflicted by Superstorm Sandy.
“In the wake of Tropical Storm Irene, many were quick to come to the aid of the people of Vermont and much of that support was from out-of-state visitors,” said Win Smith, president of Sugarbush Resort. “They rallied to volunteer and raise funds for local recovery efforts. With the devastating impacts in the tri-state area, it’s only suiting that the Sugarbush community return their generosity.”
Operation Mountains of Love kicks off Thursday, November 8, at the Boston Ski and Snowboard Expo at the Seaport World Trade Center and runs the four days of the expo. Some 30,000 show attendees will be encouraged to make a donation to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund.
Each $10 donation will garner an entry into a drawing of prizes donated by Vermont ski areas and their marketing partners. Prizes range from lift tickets to ski and stay packages at resorts around the state. For a complete list of ways to enter and a full list of prizes visit the press room at skivermont.com.
