The Vermont State Police has warned Vermont school districts about the possibility of widespread swatting calls targeting schools and residences across the United States tomorrow, October 3, 2024.
Swatting is defined as a false report of an ongoing emergency or threat of violence intended to prompt an immediate tactical law enforcement response.
If a “swatting” call is received, schools should contact their local, county or state law enforcement agency to inform them of this incident.
