The shows will be filmed live at MRVTV's Waitsfield studios and will be moderated by Lisa Loomis, editor of The Valley Reporter. Roy Hadden, a Waitsfield select board member, and member of the town's water and sewer task force will be joined by town administrator Valerie Capels in answering questions from Loomis and the public.
After over 10 years of engineering and preparation, Waitsfield is proposing a municipal water system for Waitsfield Village and Irasville, and now, for fire safety, for the Old Country Road neighborhood. Concurrently, the town is proposing a public wastewater system that will serve Irasville. Both projects are slated for construction in 2009 -- if the bond votes pass.
Total cost for both projects is an estimated $15 million, for which the town has received $3 million in grants. The town may receive additional funding from state and federal sources as well as future revenues from the creation of a state sanctioned 'TIF' district where a portion of increased tax revenues from new development can be used to fund infrastructure such as water and sewer.
