Lawson’s Finest Liquids has donated $12,269.70 to the Mad River Valley (MRV) Food Shelf located on Route 100 in Waitsfield. The MRV Food Shelf is operated by the Mad River Valley Interfaith Council and staffed by volunteers.

“The Lawson Finest staff have changed many lives by their faith in our Valley, pride of work, and ethics through their more than generous inception of sharing what would have been tips with our community is inspiring and much needed all year round. The Food Shelf/MRV Interfaith Council will accept their generous funds and do much good for the guests at the food shelf and help individuals who are neighbors and friends. To say we are thrilled is an understatement!” said food shelf coordinator Johnnye Eure.

On October 22, 2018, Sean and Karen Lawson officially opened the Lawson’s Finest brewery, taproom and retail store at 155 Carroll Road in Waitsfield. The taproom and retail store employ a “no tip” model. Rather, Lawson’s Finest provides a living wage with benefits for all full-time employees. All gratuities are treated as donations to the Lawson’s Finest charitable giving program and each month a different nonprofit organization is supported, with a focus on the Mad River Valley and central Vermont.

Co-owner Sean Lawson explains, “Charitable giving and community support are central to our core values at Lawson’s Finest. We strive to be a great neighbor by placing a high value on philanthropy in our region.”

All gratuities received in November will be donated to the Mad River Valley Community Fund, which aids local families with housing, transportation and health care whose needs are not covered by existing assistance programs.

Lawson’s Finest, founded in 2008 by Sean and Karen Lawson as an artisanal in Warren, in 2014 added an alternating proprietorship in Stratford, CT, where their Sip of Sunshine IPA and Super Session beers are brewed. In 2018 after over two years of planning, permitting and design, Lawson’s Finest opened the new Waitsfield brewery, taproom and retail store.

Lawson’s Finest beer is found on draft and in cans throughout Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Rhode Island and New York. Visit www.lawsonsfinest.com for more information.
