Theresa Membrino won a contested seat representing Fayston on the Harwood Unified Union School District (HUUSD) Board in an April 3 special election. She received 106 votes to Lorraine Wargo’s 64 votes.
Wargo was appointed to the board last fall when previous board member Heidi Spear resigned. Due to an error with Fayston’s warning for Town Meeting, that board seat had to be filled via a special election.
Fayston has 1,185 registered voters of which 170 cast ballots in the special election. At Town Meeting on March 6 there were 149 registered voters who cast Australian ballots for the HUUSD budget.
