Anne Bordonaro is stepping down from the Waitsfield Select Board effective December 19.
Bordonaro was elected in 2016. Her term expires at Town Meeting in March 2018. Bordonaro recently completed her doctorate and has accepted a position as an administrator at a university in Kansas.
Waitsfield town administrator Trevor Lashua said that the select board would discuss her resignation and the process for filling her seat at the board’s December 18 meeting. He said the board may seek interested parties and appoint a new member, or may wait until after budgeting and other work is completed in advance of Town Meeting in March. Alternately, the board may let the seat remain vacant until Town Meeting.
