Donations of food and funds are still needed for this year’s Mad River Valley Interfaith Council’s Turkey Basket Project which provides Thanksgiving dinner baskets to families in The Valley.
The Mad River Valley Interfaith Council, consisting of members from the eight Valley faith groups, works to fill in the gap in services from state and federal programs by organizing this project. This project has been very successful in the past due to individuals and businesses donating funds and turkeys, vegetables, potatoes, fruit, stuffing and much more to complete the meals. Last year 65 families were helped.
People from The Valley towns who wish to receive a basket or those who know of a neighbor in need are asked to stop by the food shelf to complete a form, speak with their pastor or contact Arlie at 496-3346 or Suzanne at 496-4109. To volunteer with the packing and/or delivery give Arlie or Suzanne a call.
