Sugarbush’s Mt. Ellen will celebrate its final days of 2016-17 winter operations this weekend. Sugarbush Resort hosts their annual Gelandesprung long-jump competition on Saturday, April 1, to commemorate this year’s season of skiing at Mt. Ellen.
Gelandesprung is a family-friendly contest for all ages and abilities. Guests can register for a chance to show off their long-jump skills at Mt. Ellen guest services for free between 1 and 2:15 p.m. The competition will begin at 3 p.m. at the Mt. Ellen Base Lodge. Sugarbush will be offering prizes for the longest jump in both the kids and adults categories. There is also a prize for the competitor with the best retro style.
On Saturday, Cruise Control kicks off the apres party at Green Mountain Lounge at 3 p.m. On Sunday, Mt. Ellen’s final day of the 2016-17 season, The Detonators will play at 2:30 p.m. at the Green Mountain Lounge. Guests can say farewell to an epic season at Mt. Ellen and enjoy live music, food and drinks all weekend.
John Egan’s Hall of Fame Send-Off Party is also on Saturday, April 1. Sugarbush kicks off Hall of Fame Induction Week with a celebration of the Warren Miller star. An apres event will take place at Lincoln Peak with live music, free pizza, beer specials, movies and more. Egan will be inducted into the Ski and Snowboard Hall of Fame on April 8 in Stowe.
