Organizer Ruth Carten said the July 6 through 8 event drew a great crowd on Friday and Saturday and on Saturday they saw over 50 more attendees than last year by 1 p.m.
"But the rain hit at 2 p.m., and that discouraged us from building on that number. The Harley Pullers still competed in the misty rain, which kept the crowd on the grounds for the afternoon. They had nine competitors, compared to five last year," she said.

The Highland games were bigger and took up the whole day as well and the HCMX (Hard Core Motocross) jumpers were able to get in two shows; but none on Sunday, she said.
"The vendors all stated they want to come back; we had added a dozen
new ones this year. They were very understanding on the weather
situation, and all stated they did well Saturday," Carten noted.

Here are the results for the 2007 Mad Rally Highland games sponsored by Small Dog Electronics and the Chittenden Bank:
Professional class:
Rob Hamelin from Wallingford, CT, won overall with a score of 7 points, Dan Dillon from Long Island, NY, was second and Marc Morin, from Montreal, Canada, finished third. Rob Hamelin set two field records with throws of 40 feet in the 56-pound weight for distance toss, and a 12' 6" throw with the 109-pound Vermont Stone.
Amateur class:
Sam Grammar first, Marty Weimann second, Ben Thuma third, Will Tagye fourth (tie), Paul Messuri fourth (tie), Simon Clow sixth, William Brown seventh, and Peter Moulton eighth.
Marty Weimann set the new world record with the 109lb Vermont stone with a toss of 14' 1". Sam Grammar set new amateur field records with throws of 47' 8" in the open stone, and 65' 10 1/2" in the 28 pound weight for distance.
Lightweight (under 190 pound bodyweight) class:
Local Mike Berby from Barre tied for first place with Jonathan Barlow. John Duncan third, and Small Dog's Art Hendrickson (formerly of Moretown and Warren) finished fourth.
Mike Berby set the lightweight mark in the 109 pound Vermont Stone with a toss of 10' 10", Jonathan Barlow set new field records in the open stone with a toss of 36' 1" and in the 42 pound weight for height with a mark of 15' 6".
Master (Age 40 and above):
Scott Depanfilis first, Ken Gustavson second, Al Dargie third, Wayne Hill fourth, and Andrew Gillie fifth.
Scott set the 109 pound Vermont stone mark with a toss of 11 feet.
Women's class:
Terri James repeated as Champion for the third year, Kate Mason second (tie) , Denise Houseman second (tie), Lacy Johnson fourth, Nancy Baker-Fowler fifth, Kristin Wood sixth, and 13-year-old Kaitlyn Wood demonstrated it's never too early to start with demonstration tosses of the 14-pound weight for distance and height.
Terri James set the 49-pound Vermont Stone field record with a throw of 12' 2.5", Terri broke her own record in the 14-pound weight for distance, tossing it 70' 3.5". Kate Mason tied Terri's record in the 28-pound weight for height with a successful throw of 13' 6".
