I am running for the open two-year Warren Select Board term at the upcoming Town Meeting and I would like to tell you a little bit about myself.

Luke Youmell WarrenSB

I moved to Woods Road South in 2012 with my wife, Beth, and our dog, Pinto. Not a long time, I know, but I don't plan on leaving. I love Warren and the Mad River Valley and am proud to call it my home.

I was born in western Massachusetts and have been coming to The Valley since I was a child. Before moving to Warren, we lived in Fayston at the Snowside Condos. And before that, we lived in Charlestown, Massachusetts.

Weekends here were never long enough. We found ways to come to The Valley on Thursday night and work from home on Fridays so we could spend more time here. Soon we were leaving on Monday mornings at 4 a.m. so we could have Sunday night here, too. After several years of this, we decided this was the community where we wanted to be all the time and we decided to make the Mad River Valley our home.

I love being part of this community and I want to serve on the select board so that I can give back. Here is what I can offer: I'm a hard worker, a good neighbor, a strong researcher and an experienced project manager. For the last 14 years, I have worked in legal technology, first at a law firm and now at a company called KEY Discovery. I lead our operations group, which provides legal support and consulting to law firms and corporations. This challenging environment has honed my management skills, improved my ability to communicate effectively and has taught me how to work with many different people (with many different ideas). I also spend a lot of time preparing and reviewing budgets and proposals.

On Woods Road, I oversee maintenance of our road, arranging for plowing and grading. I work from home most of the week, so you can often find me walking in the neighborhood with my dog. I also serve on the board of directors of the Snowside Condos.

I feel lucky to call Warren home and would be honored to serve on the select board. Please feel free to contact me with questions: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
