To The Editor:

This letter is in response to Jim Merriam, director of Efficiency Vermont. Apparently I struck a nerve, because Mr. Merriam did not address the issues raised in my letter. The new home builders in the Northeast Kingdom are not insulating new home foundations, for the most part.

Also I'm very aware of Vermont's older homes. What was not addressed was the fact that a nonprofit, publicly funded company ("you and I as Vermonters are funding Efficiency Vermont") is funding advertising for insulating contractors on our dime? Also, this is a good question: How many of you know anybody that earns over $100,000 yearly with guaranteed raises approved by the Public Service Board? I understand there could be as many as six people working at Efficiency Vermont that might earn more than that. Well, I guess we have our illustrious Governor Peter Shumlin to thank. I believe Efficiency Vermont is on his chosen few list.
