To The Editor:

A few weeks ago, Valerie Porter writing in "The Valley Floor" elevated the column from its often snarky tone to downright offensive. The subject was scolding a Valley resident who objected to the church carillon playing Christmas music. "Valerie" ended the rant by suggesting the resident move "to the other side of the tracks—like maybe Northfield." Very offensive. This kind of remark comes about when folks in The Valley walk around with their noses so far up in the air that they can't see what they are saying!

One thing to remember: From our perspective, you Valley people live on the wrong side of the tracks.
