To The Editor:
T. J. Donovan captured my attention when he was running for Chittenden County state’s attorney because he had great energy with an eye toward improving the lives of crime victims and putting violent offenders and drug dealers in prison. He also recognized that some nonviolent criminals could benefit from programs to assist them with their mental health or addiction problems. He has put such a program in place with the Rapid Intervention Community Court helping nonviolent offenders get their lives back on track, giving them a second chance to make positive life decisions. This has saved the state money because these people are not in prison and some are now helping others. After seeing him in his current position, I enthusiastically support his candidacy in the Democratic primary race for Vermont’s attorney general.
I would encourage Vermont’s voters to vote for T. J. Donovan in the primary election.
