The runners we hosted totally enjoyed every aspect of their visit to the Mad River Valley from the farmers’ market to the great food they experienced and the unique shops they explored. The biggest compliment we heard from our guests before they left this morning related to the wonderful people they had met, their genuine friendliness and the high level of professionalism experienced at every level of the marathon itself from volunteers to event organization. It is apparently unheard of for a first-year marathon to be so well orchestrated and it certainly provided us, and many other small businesses, with significant new business and truly added to area commerce in what has traditionally been a rather quiet weekend.
We would like to thank Dori Ingalls, her amazing organizational team, the towns of Waitsfield and Warren for their cooperation and all the volunteers, as well as the many sponsors including Sugarbush for making the Mad Marathon a reality. Runners are already making plans for next year which is a true indication of success.
