Since it started in 2006, the Big Picture has become the Mad River Valley’s hub for cultural, social and community events and programming.  The variety of offerings at the Big Picture is wide and deep and friends of mine from outside of The Valley who meet me there for dinner are always envious that we have such a “cool place” in our little town.

This month the theater is reaching out to the community to help make it more green and energy efficient.  On Saturday, June 11, there will be a sustainability fundraiser party, "Pimping Out The Big Picture," that includes music, a potluck buffet and the “People Power Auction” with items such as private dinners with Big Picture chefs, massages, a night of karaoke and private movie screenings.  Many people in the community are donating their services to be auctioned off.  For example, I am offering a Pie a Month for six months.  There will be both a live and silent auction.  A full house would be a great way to let Claudia and Eugene know how much we appreciate the community space they have created.

Congratulations and thank you to Claudia and Eugene for five great years and here’s to many, many more.
