Seriously, at least the sparring between Henri de Marne (with whom I
mostly agree) and Tea Party extraordinaire Olin Potter stems from
philosophical disagreement that is tethered - albeit thinly - to the
laws of physics, economic theory and politics. Jarosinski, on the other
hand, just spews nonsense.
His unique and unbalanced notions of monetary policy, history and
mathematics might be written off as the quaint murmurings of a local
eccentric.
But watching Jarosinski leading the toxic mob of hecklers and slanderers
at a recent Waitsfield Select Board public meeting reminded me that
giving a platform to some people only elevates the risk to local
officials and the community at large while doing nothing to resolve
matters of serious public interest.
