This applies to both motorists and bicyclists! In the last week, I have
experienced bicyclists not following the simple rule of stopping at this
light and barreling head on over the bridge while the light was red.
One of you even stopped at the red light and I thought, wow, one that
pays attention, cool, only to see him then look behind him and peddle
onward across the bridge through the red light! Boy is he lucky that a
large truck or even an SUV wasn't coming at him head on!
In a time when we are supposedly teaching our children how to walk and
ride safely to school, it might be prudent that we, as adults, lead by
example and follow the rules of the road as well. Hopefully, it won't
take someone getting smashed up against the side of the bridge to make
us all realize that maybe we should slow down and pay attention to the
signs and lights.
