Were you there? My children and I were there and for many years after to Green Up although we lived out of state at the time. I became the Fayston coordinator upon moving back to Vermont around 1999. Fayston has a wonderful bunch of citizens who pitch in each year for Green Up Day, and they are so appreciated.

Green Up Day is now held on the first Saturday of May, rain or shine. I try to get the bags out prior for those who like to get started early. Just look for the Green Up bag tied to sign posts at most intersections. I could use some youngsters to come help me out this year on Green Up Day.

Please leave the bags and trash alongside the roadside so it can be picked up by our road crew. Green Up wants us to count the bags and other trash picked up each year so please refrain from taking them to the landfill. Remember, it is a good day to take those old tires and appliances to the landfill for a small fee.

Watch for a colored flyer left with your mail that tells hours, price and much more information. To reach me for bags or questions, my number is 496-2083, and we have a great web site at www.greenupvermont.org.

Remember to live the Green Up way every day.
