There was a lot of shouting. There was a lot of lying. There was a lot
of fear-making whipped up by the right-wing media. Now the Republicans
who brought us two wars and the devastating economic crash and the huge
deficit are promising to not work on anything for the rest of the year.
We, the people, should be really, really upset to see these politicians
putting their own fortunes above the well-being of the people. We have a
lot of things that need to get worked on. Similar partisan battles have
accompanied major advances, like Social Security, Medicare and Civil
Rights. We don't need a party of no, we need to all work together to
solve the real problems that are hurting so many of our people who have
lost jobs.
Let us move together on the pursuit of happiness. Enough of the
bickering of politicians. Forget them, let's show our spirit as
neighbors and citizens and make our Valley a good place to live for our
children and grandchildren. Let's solve all problems by working
together. Let's go, we've got work to do.
