I am here to tell you that I have seen the future, and it is good. I have seen a preview of the upcoming PBS series Celebrate America and am filled with optimism. In this series, world-acclaimed composer
Tim Janis conducts high school choirs from around the country through a
series of musical performances that remind us of what is right with
America: industriousness, beauty, compassion, determination, faith and
a sense of character that is uniquely American. And it is the youth,
our children, who can carry the banner of America's promise and restore
her luster, bringing forth the promise of that shining city on a hill.
On
August 22, at 8 p.m., you will have the opportunity to hear this gifted
composer perform at the Warren Church. Tim Janis will be at the Warren
Church to share his gift with us, both for our entertainment and
inspiration.
So, as we ponder what is wrong with America on
a national scale, let us act and demonstrate what is right with America
on a local scale.
