We are very fortunate in Vermont to have our two senators and our
representative on the side of the people and common sense, so please
email your family and friends in other states and ask them to email
their representatives to not cave-in to the arguments by those who
profit from the current "fee for service" model that encourages all
parts of the health care provider network to over-prescribe tests and
medications.
We need to change the way we pay for health care to provide incentives
for good health outcomes rather than more expensive interventions. We
need a government provided option to reduce costs. We really need to
get rid of outrageous profit at every level of health care to control
costs. Everyone should have a right to health care. Watch out for the
arguments trying to distract us from our goal -- excellent health for
all. United we stand, divided we fall.
