In our beautiful Valley, there was a time when one's home and automobile could be left unlocked. There was a time when one felt secure in leaving lawn ornaments, grills, outdoor furniture, etc., outdoors. There was a time when one felt secure in keeping an extra house key under the doormat. There was a time when one did not feel violated, observed, unsafe or unprotected.

I do not judge the person or persons responsible, just their behavior, which shows no respect for those of us who worked hard, long hours to honestly obtain all our possessions. Our Valley is occupied by wonderful, caring, helpful and honest people. It is a slap in the face, a punch in the stomach that the principle of honesty, caring and respect for others does not apply and include all.
