She had been to the rally, and we talked. It turns out she has been
with the same person for over 20 years, and despite the fact that she
has never been allowed to marry herself, she still found it in her
heart to make me the most beautiful engagement ring I will ever have
the honor of wearing.
So tonight I write to you a plea: Please find it in your heart to honor her, and others, with the undeniable right to marry!
