A lot of these people who come to visit think they should be able to
drive to wherever, whenever. There is also a need to keep roads
passable for safety. No one plans to have an emergency in the middle of
the night, but if it arrives, they need to be able to get to help, or
the help needs to be able to get to them. So plowing and sanding of the
roads is a necessity when the storms come. The load back-up alarms, if
they weren't there, the town would be violating VOSHA and OSHA
regulations. The town's liability coverage would also cost much more,
if they were able to obtain it at all.
We as humans have to realize we can't have our cake and eat it too. I,
too, have sleepless nights as my landlord rents a garage bay to the
state, but I thank them with some coffee and muffins as a thanks for
their hard work at any hour of the day, so I can do what I need to do,
when I need or want to do it.
