I headed to the Town Clerk's Office on Friday to get my Absentee
Ballot. Upon arrival, I found the Moretown Office is closed on Fridays.
No problem, the office will be opened on Saturday for Tax Payments so I
head back down there on Saturday morning. But wait, the Town Clerk is
not there and she is the only one that can distribute an Absentee
Ballot. Now I'm getting frustrated! Although I hesitated to do this, I
called her at home to see if there was anything that could be done. The
only thing I was told was that the Office opened Monday morning at 7
a.m.
Bottom line, I COULD NOT VOTE. Our Town Clerk attempted nothing to
accommodate me. This is the first time I could not vote in a
presidential election. Our Town Clerk will understand the power of my
vote (and others) the next time she runs for office.
