I dropped off a disc with hundreds of photos to The Valley Reporter. While The Valley Reporter normally does a great job, my mistake was letting them choose the photos. I did not participate in the shooting as I am a proponent of peace and against guns and war.
A bit of background: One of our hosts used to be in the Honduran military and offered this experience to the group. He also drove us to small villages to meet people, see other building projects and did everything possible to be a gracious host. He was the same person who went out of his way every day to make our trip successful. People are complex and in that spirit I am focusing on the fact that The Valley Reporter helped me get the message out that there is a fabulous way to help children in Honduras through the Waterbury Rotary.
