It must be a typical election year -- promise them anything to get their vote. Has anyone asked what this great $8 million project will cost the lucky recipients each and every month -- forever? Or what the new water department will cost each and every month -- forever?
I recently saw the bill of a municipal water user in Northfield and it costs them twice as much for maintenance, fees and taxes than it does for the cost of the actual water used each and every month.
I don't know how you feel, but I'm sick and tired of all these quasi-politicians ignoring the wishes of the voters and they always keep bringing back all this failed stuff during the spring and summer months when they hope no one is paying attention or are apathetic and hope they won't show up to vote.
Lastly, if the voters who are not taking a financial hit by this project don't show up to vote against it, the special interest groups will get it passed and your paying neighbors will suffer the consequences.
