The goal to collect 575 pieces of clothing represents the number of premature babies born each year in the state of Vermont. Since 1981, premature births have increased 30 percent. Premature birth affects one in every eight babies in America. Despite this increase, most people are not aware that premature birth is a problem or how widespread it is.
Locally, donations can be dropped off at Afterglow Day Spa and Salon in Warren or by contacting Lori Rush at 583-2574. Clothing will be accepted until November 30.
