All of Iraq's neighbors have a keen interest in the outcome of the conflict in Iraq and contain elements that are aiding one side or another. Iraq's neighbors are extremely concerned by the power vacuum that we have created in Iraq through our failed occupation. Others within these countries see opportunities for influence.
It is ironic that the U.S., the biggest state-sponsored meddler of all, is pointing fingers at Iran at this time. These latest claims are another part of the Bush-Cheney plan to dominate the Middle East's oil by installing leaders favorable to the United States through a process labeled "democratization." They've got their eyes set on Iran just as they did on Iraq.
Meanwhile, our destructive misguided policies continue to make the region more unstable than ever, to increase the opportunities for terrorism, to cause catastrophic damage to the innocent people of Iraq, and to lead to the destruction of American lives.
