There are 22 Vermont towns with impeach resolution on the warning. President Bush should be impeached for the outrageous assertion of presidential power. If they are not called to the docket to answer for the lies, misleading information that put us in this tragic war, future presidents will feel free to do the same thing, simply ignoring acts of Congress.
It can and should start at our Town Meetings. Where else? Congress is not listening, neither is the president, and our vice president has stated on TV, "We will do what we please." The purist democracy is at our finger tips - the Town Meetings...where America began and where the people must be heard. Any way you can assist in this effort, I am awaiting your call and the challenge. Call 496-3386. I very much would like to hold a public information meeting in The Valley, before Town Meeting Day. But I cannot do this alone. We need speakers, an attorney would be an asset, a moderator. What say you citizens? Also, Cindy Sheehan will be in Vermont on March 2, 3, and 4 on a 10-town tour.
The schedule is Friday, March 2, in the morning at Montpelier, testifying at State House before Vince Illuzi's committee about troop withdrawal resolution and then a press conference afterwards, followed by a midday march.
