To The Editor:
I was appalled by your editorial last edition. JD Vance deserves only contempt and derision. He has put at risk our fellow immigrants in the Mad River Valley. They are experiencing fear of deportation and the xenophobia engendered by his hateful rhetoric.
I was lucky enough to be refilling my gas tank at Jiffy’s when the entourage went past. I proudly extended my left finger in the universal sign of contempt as they went past. When I got to Waitsfield to join the protest, I was proud that so many of us had signs that were obscene to reflect the obscenity that is his participation in hatred and anti-democracy. With all due respect, you should be ashamed.
