Dear Mad River Community:
Almost 15 years ago, on April 24, 2010, we lost our beautiful son, Hunter, to suicide. Hunter’s birthday is January 26. Hunter had finished his coursework at Harwood Union High School early, and would have received his diploma in June 2010.
First, we extend our gratitude to everyone who reached out to support us, and continue to do so. The outpouring of support provided us with a sense of community and love that was vital for us to survive this tragic loss.
Secondly, Hunter loved skateboarding and snowboarding amongst many other passions. Some of you may have seen the beautiful marker at the Warren Skatepark. This was created and donated by Doug Pierce, the father of one of Hunter’s friends. I believe it was Victoria Krushenick, this past summer, who tended to the marker and the surrounding garden area. Thank you, Victoria with much gratitude.
Lastly, if you are someone who knew Hunter, loves/loved skateboarding, or know of someone who has died by suicide, please consider making a donation in Hunter’s memory to the Warren Skatepark: To donate to the Warren Skate Park, make checks out to Warren Skate Park and mail them to the Town of Warren, P.O. Box 337, Warren, VT 05674
