To The Editor:
Thank you to all who attended Warren’s first "Pickle for a Pavilion” event on Sunday, July 23, which raised funds for the Warren town pavilion to be built next year. Congratulations to the winners in each category and special thanks to Dayna and Bob Lisaius for helping set up the nets, clean courts, and for providing homemade baked goods for all the participants; all the sponsors for making the tournament possible; Addison West for providing prizes for the winners; and Jessica Williams for donating the book, “The History of Pickleball.”
Through sponsors and donations from all the players, the tournament raised close to $1,000 for the Warren pavilion, which is slated to be constructed in spring 2024. We appreciate the support of the players, those who came and watched, and the local community for helping make the event possible. We hope to make the tournament an annual event.
