To The Editor:

In the October 28 Valley Reporter Ed Brennan’s article entitled “Transcendental Hiking” was a joy to read. Yes, about climbing a mountain.

Who’d believe a story on hiking would embrace Thoreau, Emerson, Kant, Goethe, Egan, Hinduism, the Uphanishads and all in pursuit of “getting in the zone.” Henry David Thoreau as a ski bum?

Great story, well written, thoroughly enjoyable. What else can I say except we should all “walk that trail.”
