To The Editor:
In this week's Valley Reporter two letter writers seemed to cast doubt on whether border patrol agents on horseback attacked some migrants and whipped them with their lengthy reins. If I misunderstood what they were saying, I apologize. What I saw on film was exactly as described by critics: an attack on horseback involving whipping. The denial of what is clear on film is similar to denying that there was a vicious attack by hooligans on the U.S. Capitol on January 6.
Or that the former president tried to involve foreign countries in the 2020 elections. Truth and democracy demand better of us who are fortunate to be American citizens. I don't defend illegal immigration and don't seek open borders. But like many who want the best for our country, I reject the efforts to deny the truth.
