To The Editor:
I will vote for Fred Messer for Waitsfield Select Board. Science and data, rather than personal agendas, have informed his actions as town health officer and emergency management director. Sadly, that was not the case last spring, when two Waitsfield Select Board members allowed politics and emotions to trump reason, failing to protect voters who elected them (most egregiously the elderly, immunocompromised, pregnant and seriously ill). Fred Messer became our local Anthony Fauci, following data and science and overruling the errant board members with an emergency mask mandate. In matters of life and death, Waitsfield needs sensible, fact-based representation, not political posturing. Fred Messer will provide that.
