To The Editor:
As an observation, I see many young and healthy people, who don`t fall into the category of risking death from contracting COVID-19, getting their shots. It makes me angry.
We have a large population of over 65-year-old seniors, many of whom, like myself, have pre-existing conditions who are not qualifying for inoculation because they do not live in assisted living. In my case, I am 78 years old and have been diagnosed with asthma and COPD plus other pulmonary conflicts, but do not qualify because I am not in assisted living. My wife, Kerry, and I are both elderly and of that age and health status that if we were to contract this disease, we are at extreme risk of death regardless of our living status. Kerry is still working as a banker and I still have to do the shopping, exposing ourselves.
Just look around. Perhaps it`s a shame that we are still here taking up space while paying our way. We want our shots now, not later, or before this pandemic kills us off.
