To The Editor:
In such a stress-filled time it was wonderful to have the reprieve of Halloween festivities in the Valley. Such experiences cannot happen without people to imagine and create them. I was so very impressed by all the efforts in Waitsfield and Warren. I viewed Old County Road Friday night from my car and on Saturday I volunteered at the Warren School. Observing from the woods on the decorated and fun-filled trail as a costumed witch, I was privileged to see the excited and well-mannered kids all accompanied by great adults — many carrying toddlers in packs. The enthusiastic volunteers were so into giving everyone a very memorable holiday. I heard a mom say that they should do this every year and forget the traditional way. It is a very special community that can provide two magical experiences and I hope that next year some of the observers join in and become the “they.”
Until then, thanks for the 2020 joy.
